Ken and Barbie, the vows you will soon exchange contain promises upon which your life together will be built. And so I ask you …
Ken, do you take Barbie to be your dearly beloved wife?
To have and to hold from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, so long as you both shall live?
Ken: ‘I do’
Barbie, do you take Ken to be your dearly beloved husband?
To have and to hold from this day forward, for better or worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, so long as you both shall live?
Barbie: ‘I do’
So now it’s time for you to exchange the personal vows you have written for each other. But before you do, I want you to stop and look at one another. I want you to remember this moment in time. Because in a moment you’ll say some legal words to each other that will then mean you’ll also be able to say:
“This is my husband”, “This is my wife”.
Ken, please repeat after me:
Ken: I call upon the people here present to witness that I, Ken Doll,

(Then Ken’s personalised vows).
Barbie, please repeat after me:

take you, Ken Doll, to be my lawful wedded husband.
